Australian Press Association—Unltod Settle* (Received 11th September, 10 a.m.) GENEVA, 10 th September. Tho election for three vacant nonpermanent seats on tho League Council, for which 26 is an absolute majority, resulted in Spain 46, Persia 40, Venezuela 35 being selected. Siam polled only six votes. China did not obtain a voto for *o-clegibc'ity for a Council scat. S]io required 34, and polled | 27, while 23 wore against. There were signs during the weekend that tho smaller Powers were revolting against what they regarded as the unmerited pampering of China in the faco of her bad record and default of annual fees.
