Maintenance cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M. Benjamin Witherington Dal ley was seu tenced to one month's imprisonment for being in arrears on an order for the support of his child. The warrant will be suspended so long as he pays lls a week. Frederick Bryant was charged with being £42 10s in arrears on an order tor the support of his five children. "I submit that the only way to bring this man to his senses is to sentence him to a substantial term of imprispnment," said the Maintenance Officer (Mr. J. Manning). Bryant was sentenced to sis months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as he pays £2 lls a week. For getting into arrears on an order for the support of his wife and two children, John Bramley was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as he pays £1 5s a week. . A sentence of two months imprisonment was imposed on John William Howorth for failing to support his wife and child. The warrant will be suspended as long as he pays £l 16s a week.
