«. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS A meeting of the Management Commitmitteo of the Wellington Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr. C. S. Falconer presiding. The Petone Club was granted permission to send a team to Carterton on 22nd September to play a return match against Ualefield. Arrangements in connection with the Wellington-Wanganui and Wellington-Can-terbury matches on Saturday were finalised. ' Mr. A. Edwards was appointed manager of both local teams, J. L. Duff being selected as captain of the B team and E. M'Leod as captain of the A team. A letter was received from the Lower Hutt Borough Council stating that, although the Hutt ground would be available on Saturday nest, it could not be used on 22nd September, owing to the necessity of preparing it for the coming cricket season. The secretary reported that the Poverty liay Association had not yet advised as to whether 22nd September was convenient for the shield game with Wellington. After some discussion the matter of arranging a ground for the game with Poverty Bay, if the visit eventuated, was left in the hands of the secretary.
