DAIRY PRODUCE SOLD.
From private reports by cable and mail the cheese market is sound, but it has to be remembered that prices are at an exceptionally high level. Slocks in Canada are about 4000 tons less than this time last year, but stocks in England ar<> 1300 tons more than at- this time last year. Buying of outputs of New Zealand factories has been round about 9J/4d per Bound, and it is estimated that 7000 tons September to December make has been , disposed of. Very few offers are now being made and then only for small parcels, and since the middle of last month it is calculated that not more than 200 or 300 tons have been sold. Although during the next few months stocks at Home will have to bo drawn upon, there would appear to be sufficient cheese in sight to meet : immediate requirements. Butter makers, who had offers up to Is Cd for August-September make are realising that it was well that they were accepted. Olfers to-day are about Is 5d to Is 4%d. A considerable quantity (October to December) lias-been bought for Halifax, Nova Scotia, at ' about Is 5d per pound for "finest" grade. '
