ATHLETIC PARK
« NEW STAND NEXT SEASON The old structure at Athletic Park, which has served as a grandstand for about thirty years, is to be demolished as soon as the present football season is ended, and in its place an up-to-date 6tand, costing about £25,000, and with accommodation for 4600 people, will be erected. The terms of the contract let by the Wellington Rugby Union provide for the work being put in hand on Ist October and completed by Ist May of next year. Satisfactory arrangements have been made in regard to financing the work, the union itself having a stand fund of about £7000.
