(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post,") AUCKLAND, This Day. When approached to-day about the retirement of police officers, Superintendent .Wohlman said that the proposals were a complete surprise to him, and the senior Auckland officers had certainly not been approached. If there had been any communication, it had been secretly and unofficial, or between junior members of the service. When asked whether he had any opinion on the proposal, which apparently involved the early retirement of seniors, Superintendent Wohlman said that any opinion he had to express •would ha.vo to bo sent through Departmental channels.
