i By Telegraph Press Association.1 TIMARTJ, 31st August. The ladies' championship hockey tourney was continued to-day in glorious sunshine. Heavy rain fell over-night however, and one ground was unplayable, all panics in section one being postponed till Tuesday. In section two Canterbury easily defeated Rqtonla. but Ruahine had a hard fight against North Otago, who played a splendid game. The former were the more experienced side, and this enabled them to win a match which was full' of exciting incidents. Results: Canterbury 6,. Rotorua 0; Eastern A 5, South Canterbury A 0; Ruahine 3, North Otago 1.
