MEETING OF COMMITTEE The New Zealand Rugby Union's. Management Committee met last evening, Mr. S S Dean presiding. Others present were:' Messrs. A. C. Kitto, T. A. Fletcher, E Wvlio, J. Roaclie, H. S. Lath, King) Tahiwi (Maori Advisory Board), and A. E Neilson (secretary). It was stated that Mr. T A Fletcher would act'as .the New. Zealand Rugby Union's representative^ with .the New South Wales team, on the remainder of its New Zealand tour, except over the OtagoSouthland section, where Mr. H. S. Leith for the Ranfurly Shield was received from the North Auckland Rugby Union, any date in September after the Bth being suitable to the challengers.-rhe matter was referred to the Wairarapa Rugby Union, which 'holds the shield. An application by Alan Wells (North Auckland) for re-instatement was grantor A. J. Geddes (Southland) wrote Vcentine the position* of manager oi the New Zealand team for the Tests with New South Wales. „„„„, The committee approved ot a lecommendation by the .Canterbury Kugby Union that in future the North and feouth Island teams for the inter-Island matches bo assembled not later than 10 a.m. on the day preceding the match, and that a definite time ,and place be specified.It was decidedthat the usual privileges be granted to the Returned Soldiers Association for limbless .men desiring to attend matches. . . ■ In connection, with . . Ranfurly Shield matches mention' was made that no notification had-been received from the Bush Districts Union of its challenge to Wairarapa. The >riiles provided that this should: be done^otherwise the match should- not be placed in- the oiheial list.
