— ♦ . • NURSE PLEADS GUILTY .-.:■__ 1 The theft of; £10 belonging to Mary. Kate Brown was admitted by a nurse. Ruth Grace Moat,:aged.27, in the Magistrate's Court to-day. On the application i of Chief-Detective'Ward a remand was granted till 'Friday next. : "There will be other charges against this accused," said the Chief-Detective. "She was arrested last: evening on this charge, but further inquiries are necessary here and at Christchurch." The owner of the money was an elderly lady who was leaving for Canada, and he asked that £9 10s, which was recovered from the accused, be paid to .the lady. .."lieplying '.to the Magistrate (Mr. E. She was very defiant when, arrested last evening, . and..,''gave the detectives a good deal of impudence. One of the charges to be made1 against her would concern the theft of money from the Girls' Friendly Society, and. the other would involve theft from where she had: been employed. . .
