QUEEN'S THEATRE.

The Queen's Theatre, will be the scene of a lively entertainment to-night, when "The Valley of the Giants" will be shown for the first time. The booking is reported to be heavy. There is a. matinee to-morrow afternoon, starting at 2.30. "Thfl Valley of tlSo Giants" comes to Wellington with a great reputation. It has been hailod throughout the world as perhaps the finest and most spectacular picture ot its kind vet made. The producers must be given credit for the manner in which, they realised the tremendous possibilities of the plcturisation of what is considered by some to be Peter B. Kyne's finest book. Milton Sills, who has given some of. the finest characterisations in the history of the motion picture, has one of his groatest roles, v Sills's portrayal of Bryce Cardigan, son of the pioneer lumber magnate in the version of Peter B. Kyne's great romance of the big trees. Is said to be one that stamps him as a consummate artist. "The Valley of the Giants"' is ' a story set among the redwoods of California, with the colourful lumber industry its a background. Doris Keuyon has the leading feminine role, and is said to be seen in her finest characterisation to date. The cast numbers many thousands, including lumberjacks, loggers, driven, mill hands, and many others. There are many big scenes wherein tlie entlro cast la'(teen, such as the conflict of the rival logging factions over the railroad issue. The box plan Is available.at the Bristol. The supporting programme consists of" a comedy, a rartoon, a scenic, and the latest gazette. The Queen's Quality Orchestra. should be heard to advantage in a specially arranged, music score.
