' A RACING REQUEST A deputation representing the Sports Protection League, the New Zaland Racing Conference, the New Zealand country clubs, and hunt clubs, waited on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to-day, asking for a substantial increase in the amount of therebate to country clubs from the totalisator tax. The deputation was introduced by Sir George Hunter, M.P., but the proceedings were conducted in private. It is understood that the Ministers were unable to accede to the wishes of the deputation. • Bequests for reduction in. taxation to. any special interests this year are not expected to be entertained, as it is' considered unlikely that any genral taxation remissions will be granted this session. ■ .; ■
