Minor damage only has been done in the city and suburbs. A report from Mangonui states that C.--Adamson, storekeeper; of Taipa, loaded his punt with 33 sacks'of gum on Wednesday, and with his launch attached, moored it in Taipa Stream on Wednesday night in readiness for an early start to ship the gum on the Clansman at Mangonui yesterday. During tho night a heavy flood came down and carried both tho punt and launch to sea. They were discovered on Thursday morning, cast upon the rocks, both totally wrecked. So far only thirteen sacks of gum have been recovered. Mr. Adamson's loss is estimated at £500, and it is reported ■ that he has no insurance. An endeavour is now being made to salvage tho engine and fittings of the launch.
