WELLINGTON ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT.

To-night, at the Town Hall Concert Chamber, an orchestral evening will1 be given under Mr. Ch. W. Kerry. The concert will open with Ueethoveu's Fourth Symphony, n beautiful Berlioz. "Hungarian March, Ral;oezy,'">wlll also be presented, and Wagner's overture, "Tunnhauser," will be Included in the programme. Wagner was born in Leipzig in May, ]Sl3, and "Tannhauser" was ilrst performed in I>reß--den on 19th October. 1845, and met with n mixed reception. Later, however, Wagner was hailed as a great musician, and his works as great masterpieces. At Bayrcutli Theatre a Wagner Festival is held rcgnlnrly to perpetuate the name of Wuciicr an<l his music. Tho soloist this evening is Miss Nora. Greene, who will" sing "The Forgo," by ISralims. and "When All Was ymms." from (lounod's "Faust," the 'cello obblltfafo being played by Mr. Booth. . Jllss Grace Kennedy is leading lhe orchestra (which now numbers fifty members), ami will also hs heard i(s solo violinist in' Saint Snens'-s Prelude to "TJic Deluge." A minuet, "Columbine," by Delnliave, conii>letes a.programme nf music which should provide a delightful evening's entertainment.
