BAD IN PRINCIPLE
Attention was drawn at the quarterly meeting' of the South Island Motor Union to tho fact that a traffic inspector had been appointed by the Baleluthat Borough Council at a Balary of £2 a week, and fines. The chairman said that no exception could bo taiien to the traffic inspector,-who had been appointed, but objection : should bo made to tho principle involved in his appointment. „-,-■.■■., It.was decided/that the case bo quoted to the Government, with a protest againstfthe principle of payment by results as:in this instance.
