Furness, at tho quarterly meeting of the South Island Motor Union, moved that all motor associations should do everything in tlieirpower to discountenance and prevent road racing or record--breaking trips of any description, excepting organised reliability trials, hill-climbing or other similar properlyconductod contests. ''. ■ "New Zealand is becoming regulation mad," said Mr. F. W. Johnston (Canterbury), in. speaking to the remit. Ho went on to say that he was opposed to any remit on the lines of the one under discussion.
