NEWTOWN CLUB.

The thirty-fifth annual meeting of the New town Bowling Club was held on Wednesday evening, and was largely attended, the president, Mr. Hunt, being in the chair. After <i short discussion the report and balance-sheet was adopted. The Summer Time Act of. last session of Parliament came up for consideration. The unanimous hope was expressed that the Bill would be reiutroduced this session and become a permanent; enactment. • The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Captain Peterson; vicepresident, Mr. W. M'Lay; lion, secretary, Mr. W. Chegwidden; treasurer, Mr. AV.'J. Salmon (re-elected); committee, Messrs: X Carman, G.. Haijth, J. Laughton, A. I'riddle, and V. Kobbins (all re-elected), and Messrs. C. Barker, R. Blenkinsop, 1*". Hunt, . and Henry Sexton; delegate to Centre, Mr. J. Laughton; auditors, Messrs. W. Rae and M, G-. Grenside (reelected) ; match committee, Messrs. W. Chegwidden,' 11. Sexton, and C. Barker.
