DAYLIGHT SAVING

FRUITGROWERS' SUPPORT "That all associations strongly protest against the re-enacting of the socalled 'Daylight Saving Act,' as it lias proved detrimental and inconvenient to the fruit-growing industry," was a remit from Rangiora, which was on the order paper of. the Fruitgrowers' Conference to-day. Before the remit was moved, the chairman (Mr. T. C. Brash) said he would put to tho conference the question, "Are j'ou in favour of daylight saving?" He would ask them to vote without discussion. An affirinativo vote was carried on the voices, by a large majority. Mr. Brash: "Every province with the exception of Canterbury carried a motion in favour of daylight saving." A delegate: "Didn't they want to get up early?"
