SIX MONTHS' OAOL
SERIOUS OFFENCES A sentence of six months' imprisonment was imposed on Joseph Pritehard, a taxidriver, aged 43, . who pleaded guilty in* the Magistrate's Court to-day to two charges of wilful and obscene exposure. Chief-Detective Ward said that owing to complaints that the accused had been exposing himself to school girls passing the premises in Willis street, where he was employed, detectives vyatehed the place yesterday and caught him in the uct. He admitted having committed the offence about twice a week for the past two months. The accused was a married man with one daughter, and had not been previously before the Court. Counsel for Pritehard (Mr. VV. E. Leicester) asked for leniency on the ground that the accused had not realised the harm which might have been caused. He was an excellent workman with a good record. In sentencing the accused to six months' imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be concurrent, Mr. E. Page, S.M., said that the class of offence was one which was not looked upon lightly by the Court. It. was .difficult to estimate the harm which might have resulted from the acts.
