In the Davis Cup match between Germany and England, Froitzhcim retired with an injured tendon in his foot. In tho doubles, Crole-Eees and Eamcs (England) beat Klenschroth and Prenz (Germany), 7-5, G-2, 6-4. Britain has thereby qualified for the semi-finals of the European zone, meeting the winner of Italy and India.
