ITALIAN MIGRATION

«. ; , ALLEGED AUSTRALIAN AGREEMENT Australian Press Association—United Strrlc*. (Received 2nd \Tune, 12.45 p.m.) BOMB, Ist June. There is some mystification about Mr. Brueo's announcement that an agreemont had been made by Australia with Italy to limit migrants to 3000 during the next twelve months. The Director of the Foreign Office said that no negotiations were at present proceeding, much less' any ' agreement. Italy was still restricting emigration, to the Italian colonies or to the Mediterranean at present, and is\ only granting 250 , visas monthly to Australia, and then only when employment is assured.
