SIR A. COBHAM'S FLIGHT
END OF AFRICAN SURVEY "ritich Official Wireless. EUGBY, 30th May. Sir Sefton Brancker (Director of Civil Aviation) will meet Sir Alan Cobham on his arrival to-morrow at Plymouth on the conclusion of his 23,000 miles survey flight round Africa. The flight has boon made in'an all-metal Eolls Eoyce flying boat, and Mrs. Cobham has accompanied her husband throughout. Sir Sof ton Brancker will fly with them' on Friday to Huli, and the next few days will be devoted to a flight round the British Isles, During the African flight Sir Alan Cobhain made a final survey of the air route between Alexandria and Nyanza Tanganyika. He completed an experimental flight from Khartoum to Mwanza. He attended a conference with the-East African Governments at Nairobi, at which support in a ' practical plan was provided for a proposed air service. Survey of the new air route from Capetown to .Nigeria was undertaken, and investigations were made with tho co-operation of Governments concerned for utilising aircraft to develop Nigeria, the , Gold Coast, Sierra Leone, and Gambia.
