Despite the unhappy aftermath of last year's transpacific flights, enthusiasm is growing keen hero as preparations aro being completed for reception of the Australian flyers. They are expected to arrive from San Francisco boforc noon on Friday. The army's Hawaiian department is placing all resources at tho disposal of tho foxir brave adventurers, and aro testing radio beam transmitters and conditioning Wheeler Mold,, where the aviators aro expected to land. They are arranging for tho policing of tho crowd that it is anticipated will witness tho arrival. Craft from tho United. States battle ileot now anchored in theso waiters are under orders to be prepared to steam' to the aid.of the flyers should an emergency arise. ' No definite programme of welcome has been set for the flyers in accords ance with their specific wishes and requests. , ' . ■
