TWO MEN LOST AT SEA
DISAPPEARANCE OP LAUNCH (By Telegraph.—Press Association.l AUCKLAND, 30th May. 1 On the night of 3rd December the fishing launch Dolly was seen in Nelson Bay, Kawau. She has npt been seen since, and a nautical inquiry- concerning her loss was held to-day. Mr. X C. Cuttcn, S.M., presided, and with him as assessor was Mr. W. Wycroft. Tho Dolly was owned by Joseph Henry Maslam, who, on 18th November, engaged Thomas Hook to accompany him on a fishing trip. They left Auckland the next day, intending to fish near the Little Barrier, talcing their catch to Wiiangarei. I A fisherman said lie had sedn the launch at Kawau on 3rd December; for two days after that a heavy southerly gale raged. Witness know that the Dolly's engines lia:d given trouble. The finding of the Court was that the launch had been lost at sea on or about sth December, and that both Maslam and Hook had perished.
