(From Our Own Correspondent.) NELSON, 30th May. A wedding of considerable interest took place to-day when Loi'nu Buchanau Dalgleish was married to Dr. Fawcett Miller Bodds, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, by the Key. D. M'Cosh. A reception was lield afterwards at the home of the bride's parents, where about fifty guests gathered. The bride was attended by Miss Agnes Bodds and Miss Natalie Wood, the bridegroom being supported by his brother, Mr. Hugh Bodds, and Mr. Balgleish, brother of the bride. Among the guests were: Dr. and Mrs. Fow, Dr. and Mrs. Keith, Mrs. and Miss Carmicbael, Mr. and Mrs. George Hogg, Miss Hogg, Mr. and Mrs. (J. 11. Buke, and Mr. and Mrs. 0. Griffin. Dr. and Mrs. Dodds left for Tuataperc, where Di\ Bodds is in practice. Next Monday (King's Birthday) there will be a representative Association football match between Marlborough and Nelson at Victory Square. Last year Nelson won, but Marlborough are fielding a strong team this year, and it will require Nelson's best to beat them. The Nelson team is as follows:—J. Mancaster, F. Fane, P. Smalley, H. Leake, K. Black (captain), A. Hurst, G. Smith, H. Dickinson, W. llichards, if. Guy, and C. Stevens. The annual meeting of the Nelson branch ,f the British and Foreign Bible Society was held in the Marsden Church House last evening, Archdeacon Dart presiding. He said that the present circulation of the Bible is 10% million copies in 606 different languages; The Book penetrated where the missionary could not go, and remained where, the missionary could not stay. Local sympathisers are asked to contribute to the funds of the society" during the months of June and July. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year;— President, Bishop Sadlier; vice-pre-sidents, Rev. D. M'Cosh and P. N. Knight; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Kowo; committee, Key. J. Mackay, Archdeacon Dart, Key. F. Every, Rev. H. Ralph, Messrs. Knapp and Singer. A special meeting of the Motueka Borough Council was held on Tuesday evening to receive a deputation from the Nelson Power Board Committee, consisting of Messrs. F. W. Greenslade, C. T. Price, and the consulting engineer, Mr. Lancaster. The Mayor of Motueka, in welcoming the deputation, said that it was quite time a comprehensive electrical scheme was brought into existence, and that he thought the proposed scheme was a step in the right direction. After explaining the method of procedure necessary to form a power board, Mr. Greenslade expressed the hope that Motueka would be favourable to the scheme, and that they would pay their share of the initial costs, which would not amount to over £35 and would be returnable when the scheme was finalised. The matter will be considered at the next meeting of the council. Many Nelson people will revive old memories when reminded that this is the anniversary o|f the day the Nelson Tramway ceased running in 1901. The horsedrawn tram used to run from Hardy street to the port. The collection of pictures on view at the Sutcr Art .Ga'.lery this week is the. finest seen in Nelson for many years, • and is proving a great attraction. An opossum trapper's opinion about the opening season is that it is starting a mouth too soon. The prospects are much the same as last year, but. the skins are Snot at their best till August. He pointed out that the Wellington season starts a fortnight later than the Nelson season, although Wellington is on an average, much colder than Nelson. Mr. J. A. Adams, former manager of the Waimea dairy factory, and for the last few years manager of the Collingwood dairy factory at Rockville, has been appointed manager of the Mangawhata Cooperative Dairy Factory near Palmerston North. Mr. Adams leaves to take up his duties next month. Mr. C, O'Callaghan, of the I'erntown factory, has been appointI ed in Mr. Adams's place. ■
