MOTOR COLLISION
AN INTOXICATED DRIVER i (By Telegraph.—P ess Association.) HOKITIKA,'This Day. Following two motor-cars colliding on Arahura road'at 5 o'clock last evening, William Harold Shaw, a commercial traveller, appeared in the Magistrate's Court to-day charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. The police evidence showed that the collision occurred on a 24ft road, and in spite of the efforts of the other driver, the defendant's car swinging across almost "at right angles, ran into the other car, which . was carrying a team of hockey girls. Both cars were badly smashed—front wheels, mudguards, and' running boards—but none of the occupants were injured. The defendant was fined £10, with costs. : Suppression of his name was refused.
