AUSTRALIAN VISIT
BENEFIT TO PLAYERS (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 9th February, noon.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Australian cricket team to tour New Zealand leaves Sydney by the Marama for Wellington to-morrow. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says: "The Australians should give a good account of themselves, and the experience should be beneficial to the younger members of the team, who, in a few years, will have to uphold the prestige of Australian cricket on the international field. Conditions in New Zealand can compare with those in England. It is hoped that a few rain-dam-aged wickets will be encountered. The benefits to be derived from the experience would be incalculable to Ponsford, Kippax, Richardson, and others, who otherwise will be at a disadvantage if international matches coming are to be decided on wet wickets."
