PRINCE'S POPULARITY
EMBARRASSING EXPERIENCE (United1 Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, 7th February. The Prince of Wales paid a surprise visit to dwellings damaged by the flood on 9th January. He drove up and knocked at a door, surprising the occupiers', and a great crowd soon gathered. The Prince, on reappearing, had an embarrassing experience. A woman rushed to him saying, "Kiss me." The Prince smiled and shook his head. "You must," urged the undaunted woman, making an attempt to kiss him. The Prince gently pushed her aside and hurried away. A group of spellbound maidens, busily powdering their faces, rushed the Prince, but he motored away.
