FURTHER PARTICULARS (Beeeived 28th January, 3 p.m.) WASHINGTON, 27th January. Admiral Bueret, Chief Construction Officer of tho United States Navy, informed tho House Naval Committee that an increase of : j iroximately 20,000 enlisted men and Bij officers would be necessary to man tho eight cruisers now under construction and the twenty-five cruisers contemplated in the .five-year programme. He said that tho eight cruisers now under construction would cost approximately 16,500,000 dollars eafh.
