A SCION OF THE TSARS
(Received 28th January, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, 27th January. The Princess Anna Ilyinsky, wife of the Grand Duke Dmitri, who is titular Tsar and head of the Russian Imperial family, has given birth to a son in London. The Princess is the daughter of John Emery, an American millionaire leather king. As no issue other than the Grand Duke are in direct succession the Ilyinsky baby may some day be claimed to be the legitimate heir to the Russian Throne. Dmitri was exiled from Russia after the assassination of Rasputin, and worked as a wine agent in Paris for £5 a week, and a clerk in New York prior to his brilliant wedding at Biarritz. According to the Russian Royal code the marriage is morganatic, and the bride could not become Grand Duchess, but she is given the courtesy title of Princess. She is popular in London society, and a first-class horsewoman.
