CONNING TOWEIUN TRAFALGAR SQUARE (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 28th January, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 26th January. The police have added a remarkable piece of furniture to Trafalgar square in the shape of a granite conning tower of massive proportions, impregnable to attack, whence an inspector can listen to speeches at strike time and during other emergencies. He will be in direct communication with Scotland Yard in order to summon extra police. A powerful arc ■ light will be able to illuminate the whole square at night.
