4 MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

l'o-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was presided over Mr. J. H. Salmond, S.M. A sixth offender for drunkenness, Edward Mullane, a labourer, aged 45, was fined £3, in default 14 days' imprisonment. He was allowed until Monday to pay. Four first offending inebriates were convicted and discharged. William Roxburgh, an acountant, aged 48, was remanded to Wednesday on a charge of the theft of £84, the property of Ferguson and Osborn, Ltd. Bail was allowed in self o£ jEIOO and one surety of £100. One first offender for drunkenness was fined 10s, the amount of his bail, at the Mount Cook Police Court this morning. Another was convicted and discharged. ;Mr, W. A.
