LODGE MEETINGS

The first meeting for 1928 of Loyal Antipodean Lodge, Manchester Untiy, was held recently, Bro. T. Lnneberg presiding. Bro. T. Lynneberg, N. G., and Bro. N. Smith, Warden, were appointed to represent the Antipodean Lodge on a committee to welcome members of the Wairarapa lodges shortly. At the close supper was provided. The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge, Manchester Unity, was held recently. Sister E. M'Farlane, N.G., presided over a very fair attendance. Two members were proposed for membership, and the first of the minor degrees was conferred on several sisters. The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Newtown Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held recently, Bro. M'Guire, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Bro A. J. Ibbotssen, on account of illness, tendered his resignation as treasurer, which was accepted with regret. Bro. W. Reeves was elected to fill the vacancy. Bros. Leggett and M'Guire were appointed delegates to a combined committee meeting to be held to draw up a syllabus of visitation for the following year. Bro. G. M. Wright kas elected an houorary life member of the lodge. The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Wellington Past Grands' Lodge was held recently, Bro. R. H. Johnson presiding over a good attendance. Six members were advanced to the Past E.S. Degrees, Bro. R. JJell, Vice-President, conferring; ten were advanced to the Past V.G. Degree, Bro. R. H. Johnson, President, conferring; an<f eight were advanced to the Past ■N.Cf.'s Degree, Bro. J. S. Wiley, Lecture Mnjer, conferring. A letter of condolence wag sent to Bro. W. I. Clark, P.D.G.M., on the death of his mother. The following nominations of officers were received: President, Bro. R. Bell; vice-president, Bros. W. F. Holt and P. R. Johnson; lecture master, Bro. J. S. Wiley; secretary and treasurer, Bro. R. K. Couper; guardian, Sister E. Tobin and Bro. J. Saunders; warden, Bros. A. T. Wainwright and D. Maguire; conductor and examining officer, Bro. A. G. Kennedy; ritual judges, Bros. J. S. Wiley, E. W. Guise, W. Madeley, and W. B. Brown; manafiement committee, Bros. C. J. Burnette, J. Haigh, R- Cook, and E. Wells; auditors, Bros. C. G. Turner and J. Kraft.
