THREE TIMES WEDDED
FALSE DECLARATION (By Telegraph.; (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, 27th January. Posing as a bachelor, William George Ogg, a middle-aged man; who had twice previously been married, obtained a marriage certificate and married for the third time in-February, 1925. Yesterday^Ogg appeared charged with making a false declaration for the purpose of obtaining a marriage certificate. The police evidence showed that the accused had described himself as • a bachelor when his first wife had died and divorce had separated him from his second wife. Ho met his present wife in 1924, and now he was separated from her and was regularly paying maintenance. Ogg made a false declaration, because ho did not want the woman ho married to know that he had proviously been wed. Pleading guilty the accused said, "I was single at the time. I mean I was free. I did not know I was doing anything seriously wrong." Tho Magistrate: "But you had ha 1 two wives ,before that, and I cannot see how you thought you were still a bachelor. Ogg was committed to the SupremeCourt for sentence. Bail was allowed.
