BOOSTING WELLINGTON
MR. TOMLLNSON'S MISSION "There is an idea prevalent in Sydney that Auckland is the one city in New Zealand, but I intend to correct that erroneous impression," declared Mr. F. E, Tomlinson to a representative of "The Post to-day. Mr. Tomlinson, who, like his wile, is an ardent "booster" of the Dominion, is here on a short visit before returning to Sydney. There he intends to make his headquarters and to continue his campaign of making the many, attractions of the Dominion better known. In America and Australia Mr. Tomlinson has already done much valuable work in advertising New Zealand. The cinematograph, the lantern sjide, and the lecture are used separately or together, according to circumstances, in his endeavour to bring home to the travelling public the unrivalled claims of New Zealand as a scenic resort. As a result of his lectures and displays of photographs, which ar« given in schools, colleges, hotels, or theatres, Mr. Tomlinson and his wife have been inundated with inquiries from people wanting to know more about the Dominion. "I believe," ho says, "in one continuous boost. Wellington, with its new buildings, has forged ahead wonderfully. With adequate support from those who will benefit by an increased influx of tourjstß I am confident of being ablo to make Wellington better known to people over the water, for in Sydney, with the arrival of so many liners from Home, there aro hundreds of potential tourists."
