George Fitzmaurice, who gave the screen "The Dark Angel," "The Tender Hour," and other successes, offers • the theatre-going public a thoroughly satisfying love story in a beautiful setting, that of the rich country by the Pacific when it was ruled by tho Spanish dons. Adventure, hand to'hand struggles between a hero and his antagonists, and a gorgeous moon-, light fiesta beneath the cypress trees of Montery, are some of the elements of "Rose of the Golden West." Mary Astor and Gilbert Rol&nd iirc starred. in support 3rc 3. gjizctto find comedy, while 'Colin Crane, an eminent English baritone, is heard. Tho newly augmented orchestra provides really splendid music.
