(By' Telegraph.) : '.' .-..■-■_• (Special to "The Evening Post.") . -. ■ATJCKLANi),This Day. - The annual meeting !of the Auck« land branch of the NewlZealand Olympic Council was held last'evening. An address on the Olympic movement was given by Mr. J. W. Heerian, member of the New Zealand; Council, who traversed the early formation.of the Olympic Games and passed some highly complimentary remarks on the ability of previous New Zealand representatives who have competed at them. Speaking unofficially as one of the Olympic selectors, Mr., Heenan said that several names had already been submitted to the International Council. Rowing however, had a great claim for consideration. The New Zealand ! eight was now in a position to.hold its own against the best eight in the world. The question of individ'iial selection. would be left to the various athletic. j bodies.
