PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

Mother love is the theme of the film drama, "The Miracle of Life," now being shown at the Paramount Theatre. The story is that of a young wife who desires to continue the society life of her set as she had taken part in It before marriage. On the other fiand, tho husband, a rich merchant, when his business engagements are over, wishes to lead a quiet domestic life. When he realises that his wife, partly of her own choice and partly acting on suggestions of gay-living friends, is bent on ignoring his wishes a serious break occurs. The wife then sits down to ponder over the position, falls asleep, and dreams. Coming to herself from her dream with a start, she makes a decision, and everything ends happily. Mac Busch takes the part of the young wife, and Percy Marmont is the husband. Many, beautiful gowns are worn by Mac Busch, and, as the settings are" in the homes of the rich or in palatial hotels and theatres many of the scenes are dazzling displays of beauty. When the original novel, on which the story is founded, was published, It caused a great deal of discussion. A Topical Budget and tine scenic, "Old Castles of Britain," are included in an attractive programme. Two especially fine musical selections, In addition to the incidental . Items, are rendered by tho orchestra, "Poet and Peasant" (Suppe), and "Turkish Tatrol" (Mlchaelis).
