PASSES OVER AZOEES

(A.P.A. and "Sun.") (Received 15th October, 10.30 a.m.) PONTA DELGADA (Azores), 14th October. The German Junkers seaplane, with Herr Loose as pilot, passed over the Azores, en route for America.

The machine, which carries in addition to a working crew an Austrian actress, Frau Dillenz, was first reported at Schellingwonde, 135 miles from Bremen, as a Junkers D 1230, piloted by Loose and Starke and carrying a wireless operator and mechanic. The route to. be via Lisbon and the Azores and Newfoundland to America. On the 6th October the machine was reported again near Lisbon, where it nearly crashed on the rocks at Torres Vedras at night. Fishermen directed the pilot away to sea again, and the seaplane came down uninjured.
