FAIR TO CLOUDY
GOOD WEATHER CONTINUES
At odd times many unpleasant things are said about Wellington's weather. They could not have been applied to the weather yesterday, however. It was perfect, and Wellington's population was mostly out of doors. Although pressure has increased, it has remained relatively low over the South Island. Moderate to strong north-west to south-west winds have prevailed, and have been squally at times in and southward of Cook Strait. Some rain has fallen in the West Coast and southern portions of the South Island, but otherwise warm and fair weather has ruled.
The indications are still for westerly winds, increasing southward of New Plymouth and Napier. Changeable weather is forecasted for the West Coast and southern districts, with rain shortly there. Pair to cloudy weather, however, may be expected in the northern and East Coast districts. The barometer has a falling tendency in the South.
