The Department of Agriculture lias received the following cablegram, dated 24th September, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—Market quiet and only moderate demand at auction. Present quotatrons are:—Mutton: Fine, 37s to 37s Cd per cwtjfair to good, 34s Cd to 36s Od;' dark to-dull, 32s 6d to 33s 6d. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed,\3os 6d to 40s; fair to good 34s to 3C3; dark to dull, 32a to 335. MixedFair to good, &ls 3d to 30s; dark to dull, 30s (3d.to 32a Od. Gut, etc.: 28s to 32s 6d. Hemp.—Manila market quiet, nnd prices unchanged.' Sales - reported, J grade, October-December shipments, £43. Sisal market quiet.- Business has been done in afloat parcels Tanganyika and Kenya, No. 1 £37 and No. 2 £30. Distant shipments £37 10s and £30 5s respectively. Tow: Close at hand sold £30 to £31; value for shipment, first grade, £31. New Zealand ff ?J quieter, T)ut values unchanged. New Zealand tow: Neglected. Value, second grade, £23 10s, and third grade £21 .Honey.—Market quiet.
