Tho first of a sories of conferences botwoon rcprosontativos of tho management and employees of tho London, Midland, and Scottish Railways was hold yesterday, under tho chairmanship of Sir Josiah Stamp, presidont of tho company. Tho objoct of the conforonoea is to securo more active co-opera-tion botwecn tho management and tho staff of ovcry grade iv tho promotion of efficiency and tho prosperity of tho company. . Thrco railway trado unions wcro roprcsontod, and a resolution was carried wolcoming tho company's policy, which was in harmony with trade union policy, and undertaking to uso ovory ondcavour, by mutual co-opora-tivo offort, to further tho business interests of tho railway. Arrangements aro being mado for early mootinga of local district committees.
