WELLINGTON CITY OBSERVATORY.
Weather permitting, the 9in telescope at the ixelburn Observatory will be open to the public to-morrow evening. The planets Jupiter and Saturn'; the two largest m the solar system, will be seen, in the telescope, and a good variety of stellar objects is also available. A-^series of interesting lantern slides will be shown and explained by those in charge. Last Saturday, 17th September, was a peculiar night, the planets Jupiter andSaturn and the northern half of the heavens being clouded, but visitors enjoyed excellent views of the starry regions of the far south.
