PLUNKET SOCIETY
GREATER SUPPORT NEEDED "■
Support in the direction of creating interest in Plunket work in the suburbs was sought in a letter from the Plunket Society which was read at the annual--meeting of the Eastern Suburbs League at Lyall Bay last evening. • The letter, which was read by. the secretary, Mr. E. C. Blake, said that unfortunately the society had not been successful in forming committees in a number of the suburbSj nor was any financial assistance being received from these districts. Nevertheless^ the society's activities were very great ia many of the areas. concerned. ..'..'
It was decided to endorse the views expressed in the letter, and to send a circular setting forth the society's position to all the municipal associations concerned, asking them to appoint;committees where there were none, and to follow the matter up with a view to rendering practical assistance. . It. was also decided to forward the letter.just read to the Civic League with a view to its takingi similar steps with regard to the areas outside the Eastern Suburbs' district.
