HEAVY RAIN LIKELY

The weather has continued mild, cloudy, and misty, with rain in various parts of the Dominion.- This morning rain was fairly general over the Snuih Island, whik there were some he iy falls during thp night on the West Coast. Low pressure has persisted to the westward, and moder ate to fresh northerly winds have predominated. These winds are likely to increase and back to westerlies and later to Boutherlies northward of Westport and Kaikoura, while easterlies will veer to southerlies elsewhere. The indications are for unsettled and cloudy weather, with much mist and fog, and rain generally. Some heavy rain is likely, particularly in the South Island and about Cook Strait.
