BURGLARY AT HATAITAI
Thieves broke into the residence oi Mr. C. Penney, at 54, ilatai road, Hataitai, on Friday, evening, and Btole a quantity of jewellery, silver, and cutlery. The house was left unoccupied and locked up early in the evening, but on returning at 10.15 o'clock Mr. Penr ney noticed the front door open, and later saw that a side window was also open. There were marks that might have been made with a jemmy, and the house had. evidently been entered through the window. Clothing was strewn about the house, but none of. it was takes, " : ""
