INFECTIOUS DISEASES
The Department of Health has received the following notifications of infections diseases in the hospital districts of the Wellington health district for the week ended yesterday (the figures for the previous week being shown in parentheses); it will be noted that scarlet fever still continues somewhat prevalent:—
Wanganui-Horowhenua: Scarlet fevsr, 6 (5); diphtheria, 7 (6); tuberculosis, 3 (3); pneumonia, 3 (4); cerebro spinal meningitis, 1 (0); ophthalmic neonatorum, 0 (1); erysipelas, 0 (1). Wairarapa-East Cape: Scarlet fever, 7 (7); diphtheria, 5 (7); enteric fever, 1 (6); tuberculosis, 3 (4); pneumonia, 4 (1); erysipelas, 1 (0); lethargic encephalitis, 1 (0); poliomyelitis, 0 (1). Central Wellington: Scarlet fever, 16 (16); diphtheria, 7 (4); tuberculosis, 1 (4); pneumonia, 3 (2); erysipelas, 1 (4); puerperal fever, 1 (0); lethargic encephalitis,
.Nelson-Marlborough: Scarlet fever, 1 (0); pneumonia, 2 (0).
