RICCARTON TRACK WORK

OHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The weather was fine for the training at Eiccarton. The outside of the course proper-was open, and the going was good.
Royal Head covered four furlongs in 50'4-ssec.
Arpent did the same distance in 50 2-ssee.
Magna Charta and Satrap were together over six furlongs in Imin 18 4-ssec.
Tarleton and Huakai sprinted five furlongs in linin 4 <l-ssee.
Margaret Birney and Cornstalk were well matched over seven furlongs in 1 mm 33 2-ssec.
Coastguard beat Rangatahi over four hurdles. '
Hoylake _ud Lady Swinton •ivent four furlongs in 50 3-ssee.
Thorndale and Mah Jong left five furlongs behind in lmin 6sec.
Gold Mint beat Eina Mangu over five furlongs in lmin 6 4-ssec.
■Nincompoop beat Beaming over four furlongs in 51 4-ssec.
Gay Queen, with a light weight up, beat Aberfeldy over a mile in lmin 47 3-ssec.
Peter Maxwell did a mile alone in lmm 52 2-osec.
Master Clanence and Assurance covered six furlongs in lmin 18 3-osec.
Gaze led Eoyal Form and Perle in Leon over sis hurdles, but Boyal Form joined the pacemaker at the last jump. tt_ was a good exhibition. Tholomon joined in for the last four.
Beau Cavalier went a mile in lmin 54see.
Chickwhcat and Soltoe galloped seven furlongs in lmin 32 2-ssec.
Miss Minerva sprinted five furlongs well in lmin osec.
Solferite and Taboo were evenly matched over six furlongs in lmin 16 3-ssec, the best gallop of the morning. Bandolero was tried over the steeplechase fences on the course proper, but refused at the second. Later Bandolero and Good Form jumped well over the schooling fences. Plough Boy started with them, but fell at the.second last fence of the round.
Kawini, Zirccra, Tuki, Grown Coin, Kapuna, Greenstone, and Scamp were schooled together over a round of the steeplechase fences on the course proper. Kawini and Kapuna were in front going easily. Zircon ran to the front at the top turn, but ran off at the fence near the entrance to t* 1 straight, carrying Kawini off, while Crown Coin and Greenstone fell. Zircon finally ran off at Cutts's fence, and charged into a fence. His rider (Warner) had a heavy fall, and was taken to the hospital. Kawini and Tuki jumped well, as did Kapuna, a novice. Zircon's waywardness rather spoilt a good bit of work.
Pamplona and Hathor have gone home after an unsatisfactory run on Saturday. The latter is lame.
Kilperon, Joy Bird, and Bronstell arrived this morning.
