COUNCIL BUS SERVICE
(To the Editor.)
Sir.—l notice that the council has (wisely enough) diverted the buses which were running empty on the observation business to the Winter Show route. I do hot quarrel with this decision, as the council cannot go on losing money in its tram's ventures. But what is to happen nest week when the Show is over for this year? Arc the buses to be again laid by? Cannot the Corporation 'restore the service to the suburbs which was so successful before last year's legislation? A regular service of buses to Lyall Bay Would pay the council more handsomely than the haphazard takc-it-or-lcave-it running that the Corporation has lately been putting before the citizens. Atfoi- all, our daily needs as ratepayers gliould.be considered before the temporary requirements of visitors, who already are well catered for by private observation service.—l am, etc., A LYALL BAY RATEPAYER.
