LODGE MEETINGS

At the Excelsior Lodge of Druids' fortnightly meeting there was a large gathering. The Arch Druid, Bro. W. Jennings, was in the chair. Sick pay amounting to £22 10s Bd, and accounts, £197 18s, were passed for payment. One member was initiated. The half-yearly balance-sheet was received. The Grand Treasurer, Bro. J. Laughton, representing the Grand Lodge, dealt briefly with the general position of the Order, which was exceedingly satisfactory. The whole of the, city lodges were represented, and the District Presidents of Nos. 2 and 21 districts, Bros. A. E. Ogilvie and H. Laughton, were also present. An enjoyable social evening was held after the close of the lodge.

The fortnightly meeting of Coronation Lodge of Druids, was well attended. Bro. T. Smithson, P.A., was in the chair. The sick list was light, two members declaring on and off the funds. Bro. W. Cherry was installed as V.A.B. by the D.P. Bro. H. Haughton, No. 2 district, assisted by Bro. Ogilvie, D.P., -No. 2 district. Bro. G. W. Shaw was presented with a P.A. collar and diploma by Bro. H. Laughton, D.P., assisted by Bro. J. Laughton, G.T., as Master of Ceremonies. Official visits were received from Meirosc, Island Bay, and Excelsior Lodges, aud the R.A. Chapter was represented by Bro. E. Tremayne, J.P.P. A vote of thanks to the visitors concluded the business, after which the lodge adjourned for harmony. Holly Lodge No. 14, U.A.0.D., held its fortnightly meeting at Johnsonville, and was presided over by Bro. Ward as Arch Druid. Bro. A. E. Ogilvie installed Bro. K. M'Mahon as A.D.8., and Bro. Allectnor as A'.A.B. The balance-sheet presented showed the funds of the lodge to be in an excellent position. Bro. Harrison received the thanks of the lodge, and a Past-Arch collar and diploma was presented to him by the District President. The Royal Arch Chapter attended aud presented the lodge with the Mooney Shield, won by it at the" ritual.competition for Past Officers. The R.A.D., Bro. R. Hall, made the presentation, and complimented the lodge on its fine performance. Bros. A. M'Mahon and W. Brown were also presented by the Chapter with P.P. Triangles. A large number of representatives from the city lodges was present and, after the usual vote of thanks to the visitors was passed, the lodge closed, and an enjoyable social evening was held.

The usual meeting of Pride of Brooklyn Lodge, U.A.0.D., was presided over by Bro. H. A. M'Comish, there being a good attendance. Sick pay amounting to £3 was passed. P.D.P. Bro. J. Johnston, gave a\ lengthy report on the proposal to establish a branch of the W.U.F.S. Dispensary at Wellington South. The D.P., Bro. A. E. Ogilvie, paid an official visit, and was warmly welcomed. Two candidates were proposed for membership.
