Picture patrons will agree'that tho present double-feature bill at the Empress Theatre is ono of the finest seen for lome time. The ca3t of "The Falie Alarm" includes Mary Can- and Ralph Lewis. The former specialise* in "motherly" rotes. ' This tale Is ona of thrilling heroism in exciting fire scenes, Vith a coward performing valorous deeds jndcr severe test. The theme is simple, and inclined to melodrama, but the four-cornered love story rounds It off nicely, and there is superb realism. Dorothy Bevlor and Johnny. Harron complete the cycle. Jacqueline Logan, Edmund Burns, and Montague Love arc featured in "Out of the Storm," a lavish production, telling of a young couple's stormy love affair, with a shooting tragedy to add to their troubles. The husband Is accused of the crime, and the young wife's fight for his life is one of the most' stirring episodes in this fascinating drama. The .story benefits by pictorial representation, and will be immensely popular with audiences. Tha scenery Is beautiful. There are other supports, making delightful entertainment for patrons of all ages.
